Opadry® TF, TiO2 Free Formulated Film Coatings
Although there are no direct alternatives, with the same opacifying and pigment properties as TiO2, Colorcon can provide formulations with substitute materials suitable for most coating applications. Many pigments have moderate to good opacity on their own and applying a coating to a light color substrate coating formulation can result in excellent coverage without the use of any opacifier. In many cases these colors will be brighter and more vibrant than if combined with opacifiers.
Elimination of TiO2 provides manufacturers with an alternative coating finish that satisfies aesthetic appeal while addressing current market and consumer concerns.
